Hantel Victorian Miniatures.
Hantel produced lovely collectable miniatures in the Highlands of Scotland. Their quality hand painted pewter miniatures were mainly inspired by Nursery Rhymes.
ABOUT THE DUTCH DOLL:
The Dutch doll, which was so often featured in Victorian nursery stories, actually originated in Germany.(The term Dutch is believed to be a corruption of Deutsch.) These dolls were in such demand that a large folk industry grew up. It is said that a young Princess Victoria had a number of them when in residence at Kensington Palace during the 1830s.
