ANNETTE HERRMANN WRITES
"I was born and raised in a small Swabian town in Germany. I moved to the United States in the 1980's and have lived in both Florida and Georgia. When visiting in Europe, I always seek out doll museums, shows, and accessory manufacturers to find inspiration and purchase vintage fabrics and other materials of high quality. I started making modern reproduction dolls in 1994 and acquired a great appreciation and love for antique reproductions. I have received Masters and Grandmasters certifications for antique reproduction dolls and have won numerous first prizes, including Best of Category for German reproductions. I began sculpting original dolls in 1998. I learned a variety of sculpting techniques taught by some of the industry masters. My sculpting style evolves with each new face I sculpt and it is always exciting to bring a new dolly to life.

I debuted my original dolls in 2001 and received my first DOTY Industry Choice Award for my doll Erika. In the years that have followed, I have received the DOTY Industry Choice and People's Choice Awards and Awards of Excellence Winner and Nominee recognitions. Receiving these awards has been a great honor for me.
