In 1994 the Tetbury Teddy Bear Museum in the Cotswolds, England, closed and John McBride bought many of the wonderful teddy bears and props. A huge collection of antique and vintage teddy bears, toys and teddy bear-related books.Deans Great British Bear.
Dean's Rag Book Company was founded by Henry Dean in 1903.
Dean's first teddy bear was cataloged in 1915, but probably were made as early as 1906, thus making Dean's one of the oldest teddy bear makers in Britain.
In 2015 Deans closed down but their teddy bears continue on choice collectibles.

This is a Rare blue bear around 100 years old. 14 inches tall. Rexine paw pads. Faded mohair, balding areas (see big, close-up photos). Fully jointed Antique teddy bear. Restoration such as replaced paw pads and nose embroidery etc., repairs were done by the Museum and this is how he was purchased in 1984.
His Museum Authenticity Card is included (see photograph).
