This is an Over-Loved Chad Valley Great British Bear Circa 1920 (according to the museum).
English Museum Collection Teddy Bear.
In 1994 the Tetbury Teddy Bear Museum in the Cotswolds, England, closed and John McBride bought many of the wonderful teddy bears and props.

Size 12 inches. Fully jointed.
He is about 100 years old and almost bald! Hardly any mohair at all, just a few wisps left ( seriously almost bald, so please see the large, close-up photographs and email for more if interested). Any Restoration and repairs were done by the Museum and this is how he was purchased in 1994. (See big, close-up photos.) Replaced rexine paw pads
and nose embroidery etc.
Wearing a hand knit cream wool cardigan, with British Navy insignia gold buttons.
The paper sign was with him in his glass display in the Museum.
