Rare Early 20th Century Antique AM 353.
Armand Marseille Oriental Character Baby Doll .
Circa 1913 Germany.
In the Cieslik book, German Doll Encyclopedia 1800-1939,
Armand Marseille registered the Oriental 353 head mold in 1913.
From the owner's private collection (downsizing as retiring).
He has beautifully colored bisque with ethnic features.
Incised A M Germany 353 on the back of his neck.
Approx. 11 inches long.
Early 20th Century Baby doll.
Bisque dome headed doll with ethnic features.
Black painted hair, overspray at back of neck, smudge on face.
Red dots in nostrils, closed mouth.
Brown sleeping eyes.
When his eyes are closed you can see part of his original wax eyelids.
He wears a Vintage 80s handmade Chinese style suit.
Pant waist might need adjusting.
Five piece composition bent limb baby body, loosely strung, in aged, vintage condition.
It has not been restored by current owner.
Under armholes show evidence of old repairs.
The body has scrapes and scratches commensurate with his very old age.
