Vintage/ Antique primitive, very old wood Peddlar Peg Doll that is over-loved and in need of a new home.
A jointed "Dutch Penny Wooden" doll that has not been restored.
Grodnertal-type wooden doll hand-carved, probably in Germany or the Grodner Tal region in Austria.
This sweet girl doll has a hand-painted face and sparse hand-painted black hair. She is dressed in a floral print dress with lace and tucks, underslip, bloomers, a wonderful cape lined with red striped material that has a hood and a sweet mob cap is on her head which hides her sparse, painted black hair, which at some point it looks as if maybe lace was glued to it.
She has jointed arms and legs. Her frock is sewn on, but if it is lifted away from her neckline to inspect it underneath, one can see the left upper arm peg joint has damage and a piece of wood missing, but the joint still works (see the big, detailed close-up color photograph of this peg-joint) - this arm appears longer than the other. Some painting on her face, her head and body is mottled and has also age- faded or been worn away as shown clearly in all the photos.
